Gazprom EP International became a sponsor of the International Research to Practice Conference entitled ‘Topical issues of oil and gas geology and innovative methods and technologies for the development of hydrocarbon potential of the subsurface’ held on October 10th and 11th in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Conference was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Institute of Geology and Exploration of Oil-Gas Fields (IGEOGF).
The participants of the anniversary conference presented over 50 reports on the current state and further development prospects for the mineral resource base of the oil and gas industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan; research in geological aspects including unconventional reserves. The industry experts addressed the issues related to field operations, methods and technology of drilling, geochemistry and geo-ecology.
Among the event participants were Maria Kurianova and Tatyana Sivaikova, two experts from the Exploration Division of Gazprom EP International. In her presentation, Maria spoke about the specifics of seismic interpretation of velocity-depth models giving the examples from different regions of the world; Tatyana shared the results of the prospective assessment of oil-and-gas content in the Bukhara-Khiva Region following the historic and statistical analysis of hydrocarbon resources.
The colleagues highlighted the importance of participating in such events for experience exchange among the industry experts in order to get new information and apply it in planning further activity in the region.
