From 22 to 28 September, on behalf of Gazprom PJSC, Gazprom EP International organized an annual training for the delegation of PetroVietnam. For the first time the Gazprom PJSC experience in HR management was set as the topic of the training.
Gazpromneft STC LLC, Gazprom transgaz Saint Petersburg LLC, Gazprom mezhregiongaz LLC, Gazprom export LLC and Gazprom EP International were excited to share their experience with the Vietnamese colleagues.
The experts of the State Gas Concern explained the guests the main HR management principles: systems of recruitment, training, development and motivation, management of the talent pool. The Vietnamese Side was interested in the young scientists’ contest, the Young Vision Award, organized by Gazprom EP International in cooperation with Wintershall for the past 6 years.
“We have long-standing partnership with PetroVietnam including personnel training and development. Russia and Vietnam have a lot in common, but, of course, there are some differences, for example, in social and cultural aspects. For this reason, bilateral experience exchange in HR management is essential, considering the international focus of our company”, said Alexander Nikiforov, Deputy Managing Director for HR & Legal of Gazprom EP International.
The delegation representatives also emphasized the importance of such cooperation: “Gazprom is a big corporation with high-level competencies. Such meetings provide a possibility to get acquainted with the best international practices and that is of high importance for us”, stated Chan Dyk Shon, Head of Division from PVGas.
Since 2012, similar events have taken place every year under the Cooperation Agreement on Personnel Training between Gazprom and PetroVietnam. The training is organized by Gazprom EP International.
Background
Gazprom's interests in Vietnam are represented by Gazprom EP International B.V., a company focusing on overseas projects, including power generation and LNG projects.
Oil and Gas Corporation PetroVietnam focuses on hydrocarbon exploration, production, processing, transportation and sales. In December 2009, Gazprom and PetroVietnam signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement effective until December 2019.
A Russia-Vietnam Joint Venture PVGAZPROM Natural Gas for Vehicles was established in 2015. The JV includes Gazprom EP International B.V. (35.5%), Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo (35.5%), and PETROVIETNAM GAS (29%).
The JV is currently implementing a joint pilot project aimed at constructing a Vietnam-based small-scale facility for the production of LNG to be used as vehicle fuel.
